Chicago HOPES for Kids is a non-profit organization that provides educational support to children living in homeless shelters. One of our partner shelters, Primo Center for Women and Children is moving to the Englewood community, and we are looking for volunteers to work with our kids!

Free Filing

Anyone who makes less than $64,000 and is comfortable filing online (it’s really not that hard!) can go through the Free File Alliance offered through the IRS to file their taxes for free. Through this site, you will be directed to commercial tax preparers (HR Block, Turbo Tax, etc.) who have a free filing option. https://apps.irs.gov/app/freeFile/ or just go to your favorite tax software and choose the free filing option.

If you would prefer to receive FREE assistance in person (beginning tomorrow!), there are multiple sites you can go to if you make less than $30,000 as an individual and $55,000
