CONSTRUCT Expands Job Opportunities for Local Minority Candidates

ComEd has brought together 31 construction industry companies, two local utilities, and seven social service agencies to help increase job opportunities for minorities in neighborhoods throughout Chicago and Northern Illinois. This week the CONSTRUCT partners kicked off the 2017 class of 90 participants who will go through the 9-week job training program that provides training and information needed to compete for entry-level jobs in construction-related fields.

New Englewood Senior Ministry Celebrates 1st Anniversary & Black History Month

UnChained Ministry (UM), an Englewood-based faith community of Black Church believers, "called to serve seniors and their extended families," celebrated their 1st anniversary as well as Black History Month Sunday afternoon, February 26th past, with a festive Jazz Brunch in the Joann Thompson Community Room of Bethel Terrace Co-op Senior Apartments, 900 W. 63rd Parkway.  

MASK Founder to be Honored at Local Nonprofit Gala

Tamar Manasseh, founder of MASK, will be honored along with other Chicago leaders and activists at Girls in the Game's 22nd Anniversary Field of Dreams event on February 23rd, 2017. Girls in the Game empowers girls through sports, health and leadership to be gamechangers in the community and provides after school programs at four schools in Englewood.
