Englewoodian Honored with Dr. King Humanitarian Award

Michael Tidmore, of Teamwork Englewood has spent more than a decade empowering, uplifting, motivating and mentoring youth in not just his community of Englewood but in other Chicago communities.

Tidmore is best known for his role as the African-American Male Program coordinator at Teamwork Englewood for the past eight years. Tidmore is a volunteer at the PEACE Center, founding member of the Englewood Political Task Force, Englewood native, male mentor and writer. He has spent years leading group workshops and program activities on issues of academic support, anti-gun violence, peace movements, conflict resolution, restorative justice, college tours, community development and civil engagement. He has spent time mentoring hundreds of young men from schools in the community and has kept everlasting relationships with his mentees.

On Friday, January 15, 2016, The 19^th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Humanitarian Service and Celebration will be held in Englewood at St. Bernard Hospital Chapel at 326 W 64th St, Chicago, IL 60621. The celebration is opened to the public and will began at 12pm. Refreshments will be served.
