The Center For Advancing Domestic Peace Inc is located at 845 W. 69th street, Englewood, IL. Services provided include identifying the values and belief system for those who are violent and abusive towards their love ones. Most participants in our program are mandated by adult probation and the social services department, but we welcome anyone in need of counseling.
Domestic Violence is an issue not often brought up in conversation but often present in all communities. There are numerous services for victims of domestic violence, but victims who are predominantly female are not the issue at hand. The majority of violence that occurs is predominantly committed by men. Men are socialized by society to inappropriately express their emotions and exercise Male Privilege. Well meaning men need to stand up and speak out about Domestic Violence and the effects it has on the home. Domestic Violence affects children and the community. Children are traumatized victims of domestic violence and jail is not a solution to addressing the behavior of the abuser, who is eventually released back into the community without rehabilitation. At CADP we provide services that identify abusive behavior and teach nonviolent relationship skills.
If you or anyone you know can benefit from these services and will like to speak more about the services contact the Community Outreach Director, Antonio Wheeler at 773-430-9253. Whether you will like to refer someone and or need a presenter to come and speak at an event about Domestic Violence and Teen Dating Violence you can contact Antonio Wheeler as well. CADP serves the abuser and offers counsel to correct their behavior and teach healthy and nonviolent equality skills. We all have a part in creating domestic peace in our community.
