Teamwork Englewood Dedicates Community Garden
Published: July 20, 2012
Teamwork Englewood believes that the creation of green healthy spaces impact positively on the reduction of violence in neighborhoods. Working with the 66th
Sangamon Block Club and support from LISC, an empty lot has been converted into a beautiful garden. The 66th Sangamon block club was chosen because of the volunteer efforts of its membership who regularly clean empty lots to keep the neighborhood clean. The block club agreed to partner with Teamwork Englewood in designing, developing and maintaining the garden. Over 40 youth participated in the work as part of the City of Chicago youth summer employment program.
