Come out to the JUNETEENTH FAMILY DANCE in observance of the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the U.S.
Refreshments, Music, Fun, Entertainment! at the "JUNETEENTH FAMILY DANCE" hosted by Imagine Englewood if, Race to Knowledge, and the Chicago Underground on Tuesday, June 19th, from 1pm to 8pm at Imagine Englewood if, 730 W. 69th St. in Chicago.
Juneteenth is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States. From its Galveston, Texas origins in 1865, the observance of June 19th as the African American Emancipation Day has spread across the United States and beyond.
Learn about the end of slavery in the United States. Highlights of the event include the ANTEBELLUM DIORAMA SPONSORED BY "BLACKS IN GREEN" (BIG), which is a three-dimensional miniature model museum containing 30 graphic scenes of slavery history acknowledging ancestral contributions in the rise to FREEDOM.
CULTURAL ACTIVITIES INCLUDE ARTS, OPEN MIC, YOUTH ACTIVITIES, FOOD, ENTERTAINMENT, FARMERS MARKET AND MUCH MORE. THE EVENT WILL BE HELD FROM 1PM TO 8 PM.
FESTIVITIES INCLUDE FREE FAMILY DANCE AND KATHERINE DUNHAM DANCE CLASSES BY THE SPIRIT WING DANCE ENSEMBLE.

CLASS #2 (MASTERS CLASS)
All dancers welcome:
Hip Hop, Modern, African, Ballet, Tap, Praise Dancers
From 6PM – 8PM
Suggested Donation for Masters Dance Class: $10.00
