Media-N-Motion was started by three dedicated Englewood residents, Asiaha Butler, Tonika Johnson and Tesha Dickerson. The youth journalists who participated in this program went on field experiences, led mock press conferences, and were interviewed by Joel Hood of the Chicago Tribune. To view the full story in the Tribune please link here.
In a culminating event held Saturday, February 26, all Media-N-Motion participants were publicly acknowledged during the Black History Month edition of Docs & Dialogue, another Englewood resident-driven project, which took place at Kennedy-King College.
During their special presentation, participants and their families viewed a short video produced by Taryn Randle, a journalism student from Loyola University Chicago, which captured the essence of our program. See video below.
All attendees received a print version of the Englewood Youth Times, the official publication of Media-N-Motion. The 2nd cycle is scheduled to be released this month, for more information about this program please contact Asiaha Butler at 773-744-8849 or Tesha Dickerson at 773-459-3570.
Again, this is another resident driven, Englewood success story, stay tuned for more!!
