It included desperate stories and was punctuated with photos from areas outside of Englewood to illustrate the perspective of the newspaper.
Your follow-up article, "In a community on the brink, homeowners refuse to give up; Longtime residents unite to rescue fate of Englewood area" (News, June 26), did touch on the efforts of some of the community, but, unfortunately, the articles touched only the surface of the community and failed to tell the complete story.
The real story of Englewood must include what is happening beneath the surface and how it will impact communities across the metropolitan area.
Englewood was one of the earliest, hardest hit and most visible victims of the greed and inhumanity of this latest recession.
