Dr. Joseph Unger Installed as Chicago Dental Society’s 2020 Englewood Branch Director

Bringing more than three decades of experience as a practicing general dentist, Dr. Joseph Unger was installed as Director of the Chicago Dental Society’s (CDS) Englewood Branch at a ceremony held on Sunday, November 17, at the Four Seasons Hotel. Dr. Unger previously served as President of the CDS Englewood Branch.
In his role as the CDS Englewood Branch Director, Dr. Unger will focus his efforts on driving attendance for the 155th Midwinter Meeting, taking place February 20-22, 2020, at McCormick Place West. The Midwinter Meeting is CDS’ annual scientific meeting and one of the largest exhibitions of dental products and professional dentistry in North America – attracting nearly 30,000 attendees and generating more than $30 million for the local economy in 2019.
Dr. Unger earned his dental degree from the Loyola University Chicago School of Dentistry. In addition to CDS, he is a member of the American Dental Association and Illinois State Dental Society, where he previously served as President, and sits on the Board of Directors for the Illinois State Dental Society Foundation. He also serves on the exam complaint review committee of the Central Regional Dental Testing Service. Dr. Unger has always been heavily involved in CDS, serving on various committees, such as the Membership and New Professional Committees. He has also served as Program Chairman of the 2001 Midwinter Meeting and is a member of the CDS-affiliated Dental Arts Club.
Dr. Unger lives in Downers Grove with his wife, Susan. They have two daughters, Madeline and Claire.
Established in 1864, CDS is the largest local society of the American Dental Association, with more than 4,400 members in Cook, Lake and DuPage counties.
