Intern with RAGE - Project Coordinator Needed!

Our mission at the Resident Association of Greater Englewood is to mobilize people and resources to force a change in the community by breaking down barriers to communication and promoting positivity through solution-based approaches. Within this organization, the Project Coordinator primary responsibilities will include the coordination of the various operations and programs of R.A.G.E. The Project Coordinator must demonstrate strong project management experience, including the design and implementation of community-based projects, community organizing, and strong communication skills.
Reports Directly to R.A.G.E Executive Director/President
Stipend Intern – 10-15 hours per week - Length of Commitment: 3-6 months
Responsibilities:
Administrative Duties
- Provide marketing support for R.A.G.E through community outreach – creating and distributing flyers, letters, social media, emails and other organizations literature regularly.
- Manage R.A.G.E. database and input new data received on a consistent basis.
- Respond to inquiries via phone or email.
- Provide relevant, appropriate, and publishable content for R.A.G.E social media outlets and other online sites to promote RAGE or other Englewood meetings and events.
- Create and send monthly newsletter using MailChimp and daily/weekly blog post using WordPress.
- Update R.A.G.E. online calendar and website as needed.
Community Engagement and Events
- Plan, promote, and coordinate R.A.G.E. outreach initiatives such as the So Fresh Saturday events in the summer, bi-monthly Englewood Village Meetings, Quarterly Open Houses/Orientation and Member Only events, Buy the Block workshops, and other events developed.
- Serve as an ambassador for R.A.G.E. by attending and participating in local and citywide meetings, events, panels, resource fairs, and conferences.
- Identify and establish new relationships, and maintain current collaborative relationships, with
- community-based organizations, block clubs, nonprofit organizations, faith-based and community leaders, schools and local businesses.
Volunteer Management
- Cultivate and maintain member/volunteer relationships
QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of, or well-established contacts in the Englewood community
- Experience in community organizing, community outreach, and/or communications
- Demonstrated experience performing administrative tasks, with a proven record of excellence in organization, time management, and prioritization
- Excellent communication skills, including customer service and comfort with public speaking
- Ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment, and comfort working independently
- Availability to work evening and weekend hours remotely or at assigned locations.
- Dependable transportation to travel to various meetings or events.
- Strong Social, Interpersonal and Leadership Skills
- Enthusiasm for conducting local community outreach
- Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Writing Skills
