With nearly 30 years of experience as a practicing general dentist, Dr. Cheryl Watson-Lowry was sworn in as president-elect of the Chicago Dental Society (CDS), at a ceremony held on Sunday, November 12, at the Palmer House Hotel. Dr. Watson-Lowry is only the third woman to hold the position in the history of the society.

CDS was established in 1864, and with more than 4,400 members in Cook, Lake and DuPage counties, is the largest local society of the American Dental Association.
Dr. Watson-Lowry graduated from the University of Illinois, Chicago College of Dentistry. She is a member of the American Dental Association, National Dental Association, Illinois State Dental Society, The Odontographic Society of Chicago, and the Lincoln Dental Society. She has been practicing dentistry for more than 30 years and took over her father’s dental practice in 1987.
