"Not Before My Parents" in partnership with Powell's Barber Shop presents Chess Moves Against Violence on Saturday, September 30th from 12pm-4pm in the parking lot of Powell's Barber Shop located on 1139 W. 63rd Street. ALL community residents and stakeholders are welcome!
There will be free food, music and peace! This event is inspired by a young man named Erick Lacey Jr, who was a client at Powell's for over two years. He lost his life to gun violence at the beginning of this year. The goal is to inspire our youth to think and develop strategies to preserve and uplift life.
ALL amateur and advance chess players are welcome! In fact, Bring the entire family out! We will have several tables set up and professional chess players present to teach and encourage our children to play!
