SERVE-A-THON
Saturday, June 24th at 8 am
Many communities, one Chicago
We’re a city of 77 diverse neighborhoods, each with its own unique assets. And while we’re North Siders, South Siders and West Siders, we’re also Chicagoans.
That’s why on June 24, we’ll gather 5,000 Chicagoans to volunteer side by side at Chicago Cares’ Serve-a-thon, the city’s largest day of service. Former football players Israel Idonije and Jarrett Payton and elected officials will help kick off the day at Daley Plaza.
Check-in will take place between 7:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. at Daley Plaza, 50 W. Washington. Volunteers will board buses to their service projects after check-in, and there will be a lunch break at each project. After the work is completed, buses will return volunteers to Daley Plaza for a celebration with free food, drinks (beer for ages 21+, ID required), and live entertainment provided in large part by event sponsors. The post-event celebration ends at 5:30 p.m.
