On Wednesday August 31, 2016, Howard Brown Health will host a free open-house at its newest clinic site, Howard Brown Health 63rd Street. The event is open to the public, and will feature two healthcare professionals from the Howard Brown Health family, Site Medical Director for 63rd Street, Dr. Maya Green along with Howard Brown President & CEO David Ernesto Munar, as well as several surprise guests. Food, entertainment and special giveaways will be provided for all attendees. Howard Brown Health announced the expansion of its healthcare services to the Englewood community in March, 2016 to a clinic formerly operated by the Chicago Department of Public Health, and began providing comprehensive primary care and wellness services at the new site in May.

Howard Brown Health exists to eliminate the disparities in health care experienced by lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people through research, education and the provision of services that promote health and wellness.
Howard Brown Health was founded in 1974 and is now one of the nation’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBTQ) organizations. With an annual budget of over $59 million, the agency serves more than 27,000 adults and youth each year in its diverse health and social service delivery system focused around seven major programmatic divisions: primary medical care, behavioral health, research, HIV/STI prevention, youth services, elder services, and community initiatives. Howard Brown serves men and women, infants, youth, and children through a multi-site operation based in Chicago that includes a main health and research center in the Uptown neighborhood, Howard Brown Sheridan, the Lakeview neighborhood has Howard Brown Halsted, as well as the Broadway Youth Center, and three Brown Elephant resale shops in Chicago (Lakeview and Andersonville neighborhoods) and Oak Park.
